THE HISTORY OF BETWEEN SHIFTS THEATRE SOCIETY
Between Shifts Theatre of Squamish was founded in 1993, by Kathy Daniels and Mark McConchie. Mark left Squamish in 1997, and the group has continued on, under Daniels’ Artistic Direction.
As a registered non-profit society, Between Shifts Theatre, BST, continues in its vision and commitment to bringing Squamish and the Corridor top quality theatre, ‘better-than-your-average’ community theatre. It has always been BST’s mandate to be semi-professional in quality and content. This has been accomplished in hiring the occasional professional director for specific productions, offering workshops facilitated by professionals, and the professional background and qualifications of the artistic director and various other actors.
In addition, a commitment was made in the beginning to bring Squamish and the Sea to Sky Corridor material that was both artistic and challenging, as well as great comedy and entertainment.
