Between Shifts Theatre of Squamish was founded in 1993, by Kathryn Daniels and Mark McConchie. Mark eventually left Squamish and the group continued to produce quality community theatre, under Daniels’ Artistic Direction.

As a registered non-profit society, Between Shifts Theatre (BST), continues the founding vision and commitment to bring top quality theatre to Squamish and the Corridor. It has always been BST’s mandate to be semi-professional in quality and content. This has been accomplished in hiring Directors for specific productions, offering workshops facilitated by skilled artists, and the background and qualifications of our two Artistic Managing Directors and various other actors.

In addition, a commitment was made to bring Squamish and the Sea to Sky Corridor material that was both artistic and challenging, as well as engaging and relatable. A strong continuing component of our mandate is to foster young performers and give them experience on stage and to support their continuing education in theatre with our Scholarship program for those students seeking post-secondary education in theatre.
